Founded in April 2020, Ballet Together offered its first virtual schedule of ballet classes and has now grown to 3,000 students in over 80 countries. In June 2020, Ballet Together expanded to create a partnership with global schools and teachers offering ballet training and teaching resources led by accomplished professional dancers, repertoire directors, and educators.
The Ballet Together Teacher Certificate e-courses are aimed to further the development and training of ballet instructors. All coursework is free and online. No matter who you are, where you live, or your socioeconomic position, it is our priority that everyone has an equal opportunity to learn. The goal is to provide participants with access to level-specific courses with tools to help them train their students in a strong ballet curriculum and gain confidence as an instructor.
Application Deadline: Monday, Dec. 14, 2020. Results announced by Monday, Dec. 21, 2020.
Samantha Galler, Ballet Together instructor, and Miami City Ballet Soloist teaching CPYB students.
All courses are free and online to allow equal opportunity to everyone who is eager to learn - no matter who you are, where you live, or your socioeconomic position.
Our self-paced e-course is designed to allow more flexibility to complete the coursework while working a full-time or part-time job. It means the course materials are available online as soon as the course begins and there is no strict weekly schedule. Only a few assignments have specific due dates, but the rest of the coursework can be completed at any time within the course dates.
A Program Manager will evaluate assignments and give individual feedback within 10 business days of submission. Communication is via email, Google Drive submissions, WhatsApp, or other Ballet Together pre-approved tools.
Upon completion of each course, participants will receive a level-specific Ballet Together Teacher Certificate and be able to apply their new in-depth knowledge and Ballet Together Certified Curriculum to work with their own students. If a participant does not demonstrate successful comprehension of the materials, no certificate will be awarded and a repeat of the course will be recommended.
Each level has a specific maximum length of time to complete the coursework for the certifications. Participants must pass their Level 1 Certification before attending Level 2 and so forth. There are four levels of the complete certification, which must be acquired in succession.
This is the foundation of the ballet curriculum and imparts basic skills of coordination and musicality to students.
This continuation course prepares teachers to instruct intermediate ballet students. This level’s curriculum introduces a more extensive ballet vocabulary to develop a strong understanding of a traditional ballet class structure.
This further continuation course prepares teachers to instruct advanced ballet students. These levels add complexity to combinations allowing students to further develop their musicality and artistry.
This additional course prepares teachers to instruct students to dance in pointe shoes, from a beginner to an advanced level.
Prerequisite: Ballet Together Teacher Certification - Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 + 4.
